Dioxins cause cancer

Do you want to live healthily to a nice old age?

Then get this into your head: Dioxin Carcinogens causes cancer (especially breast cancer). What's a dioxin? It's a chemical compound found in such friendly products as agent orange and plastic water bottles. In 1997, a World Health Organisation group declared the most toxic dioxin - 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin, or TCDD - a class 1 carcinogen, meaning it causes cancer in humans. And dioxins are in a lot of everyday common items, and how you handle those items can aggravate the effects. In this week's post, we take a look at two common culprits...

Are you using plastic to store food or liquids? Well, this is a major input source of dioxins into your body. NEVER microwave food in plastic, and don't freeze your plastic water bottles with water as this also releases the dioxins in the plastic. Edward Fujimoto from Castle hospital was on a TV program explaining this health hazard. (He is the manager of the Wellness Program at the hospital.)

He spoke about dioxins and how bad they are for us, telling us that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers, especially foods that contain fat. The combination of fat, high heat and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of your body. In case you're not clear on it; Dioxin are carcinogens and highly toxic to the cells of our bodies!

Instead, he recommends using glass, Corning Ware, or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results... without the dioxin injection. So things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups ,etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't too bad but you don't even want to know what's in the paper. Just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He said we might remember when some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem was the reason. Making matters worse is to take things like Saran wrap, and placing it over the food as they are microwavved with the high heat, it actually drips poisonous toxins into the food, so use paper towels, ok?

Even lipstick isn't safe anymore... what's next?

Brands don't mean everything. Recently a brand called "Red Earth" decreased their prices from $67 to $9.90. Why? It contained lead. Lead is a chemical that causes cancer.

The Brands that contain lead are:

1. CHRISTIAN DIOR

2. LANCOME

3. CLINIQUE

4. Y.S.L

5. ESTEE LAUDER

6. SHISEIDO

7. RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)

8. CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)

9. MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK.

The higher the lead content, the greater the chance of causing cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L. lipstick contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those lipsticks that are supposed to stay longer. If your lipstick stays longer, it is because of the higher content of lead.

Here is the test you can do yourself:

1. Put some lipstick on your hand.

2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.

3. If the lipstick color changes to black then you know the lipstick contains lead.

Stay safe, Think before you consume.

Seeking alternatives for developing autonomous regeneration of the environment? Tired of pollution causing damaging weather changes because of the choices we citizens make? The climate is our commons; it is the root of the world's communities. Deep thinking will be needed, depending on the dilemma facing Earth. Ecological and economic matters will suffer equally from our emission-based energies. Energy has lasting environmental impacts, something environmentalist groups have warned about for years. Environmentalists are not just people passing moral judgment, they are just keenly aware that resources are finite. Food, fossil fuels and the markets, are global as is their impact. How great it would be if we could green the earth and grow the economy? A cleaner environment contributes to better health, helping us begins by learning how industrial activities can merge into the ecologically sound lifestyle. There is no limit on what we can do if we keep in mind local impact of our production with the moral clarity of our obligation to protect Mother Nature. A new organic Participatory ecology is forming; we can no longer turn blind eyes to the actions of those who pollute. We can preserve future growth by recognizing the problems, establishing protocols, and setting benchmarks for recognizing pollution reduction. Instead of exploiting the earth's natural resources, we will rely on renewable resources to save our legacy. If this makes sense to you, and you're serious about finding a solution for earth restoring technological advances, we'd love to hear your thoughts. Share with us ideas, problems, experiences with new technologies and environmental trends about restoring nature's right to clean water and abundant wildlife.
